Fold-Out Metamorphic Desk Cabinet

Very rare and collectible Mid-Centuary East German ‘Magic Box’ Fold-Out Metamorphic Desk Cabinet (DDR/Cold War Design) This is a space saving ‘Home Office’ and was originally conceived by Swiss Architects Mummenthaler & Meier in the late 1950’s. This variant, however, was made in the DDR in the late 1970’s. The cabinet is used and does have some minor ink stains inside on a couple of shelves and some chipped veneer on the left hand side at the bottom, but isn’t too noticeable and reflects the age. You can see them in the photos. Closed Dimensions - H - 110cms / W - 80cms / D - 41cms Open Dimensions - H - 110cms / W - 160cms / D - 26cms For sale: £250.
