The Big Community Cook-Along - Learn Jiangxiang Bing for Charity

For twenty-six weeks you have watched Mr Tang shape the dough into that perfect circle. This Saturday you stop watching and start cooking. The Big Community Cook-Along is a live, all-levels class where Mr Tang teaches his own jiangxiang bing method - the flour dough, the flaky golden layering, the Tian Mian Jiang sauce, the sesame-and-scallion finish - from the same cart he serves from every day, with the street queue cheering your attempts. Your kitchen: one frying pan, one spatula, one bowl. We publish the shopping list a week ahead; nothing on it costs more than a few pounds. If your first jiangxiang bing comes out thick, uneven, or attaches itself permanently to the ceiling - good, that is the authentic experience, and it puts you exactly one attempt away from dinner. Every £5 entry is also a donation: each ticket funds ten hot plates for the street the following morning, cooked by the man teaching you. Learn the dish, feed the street - the same dough, twice. At the end of the session we hold the traditional Cook-Along awards: The Roundest, The Bravest Flip, and the coveted Closest To Tang's.
