The Silent Crisis - All-Night Line for Fathers
In the week after a final order, a separated father takes his own life roughly every two days in this country. That figure is not a slogan; it is the arithmetic of loss - home, children, purpose and pension in a single envelope - met with the quiet cultural verdict that a man in trouble should cope. He does not cope. He simply stops answering. And the agencies designed for everyone else reach men last. This fund keeps our all-night line open through the deadliest hours - 10pm to 6am, seven nights - staffed by trained volunteers who are themselves survivors of the process: men who sat on that edge and came back. One hour of trained listener time costs £8 - exactly one entry. Tonight's target: a full month of overnight coverage, 240 hours, every hour logged and every call that saves a morning counted anonymously in our season report. At the session we keep a minute of silence for the fathers who did not reach us, hear from a night volunteer about what 3am actually sounds like, and light the vigil wall - one candle per entry, no names, no speeches. International Men's Day is nine days away. The line must be open every night until then and after. Keep it lit.
